Who is Sir Tim Berners-Lee?
Tim Berners-Lee is a fundamental part of computer science history, as he is the inventor of the World Wide Web. He was born on June 8, 1955, in London, England. Both of his parents were computer scientists who were important in developing the forst commercial computer. He graduated the University of Oxford and went on to pursue a huge career in computer science. He became a software engineer at CERN and created a program called Enquire, which is now known as hypertext. It allowed a user to input information in one place and for that information to be developed into a site through links. He went on to build the W3 Consortium. His accomplishments led him to earning the Charles Stark Draper Prize from the National Academy of Engineering. These achievements led him to becom one of the most important figures in computer science history.
